Man Loses Over 300 Pounds Walking to Walmart and Back Every Time He Wanted a Meal

An Arizona man says he lost more than 300 pounds by walking back and forth to his local Walmart each time he wanted a meal, according to ABC News . Pasquale “Pat” Brocco, 31, said he made a commitment to change his lifestyle three years ago when his doctor cautioned him that his weight of 605 pounds – in addition to his high blood pressure and high cholesterol – jeopardized his life.

Dietary advice for combatting gout

A diet rich in fruits, vegetables, low-fat dairy and reduced in fats and saturated fats , designed decades ago to reduce high blood pressure, also appears to significantly lower uric acid, the causative agent of gout. Further, the effect was so strong in some participants that it was nearly comparable to that achieved with drugs specifically prescribed to treat gout, a new study led by Johns Hopkins researchers shows.
